We have picked a Charity for this year...... Open Books, Binding Families. This is a literacy project targeting children and families under the care of West. County Children's Bureau. The goal of the projest is to introduce children to books and provide parent (s) with ideas on fostering literacy in their families with little effort. Children will be given a book bag and the books, free of charge, to take home in limited numbers. Open books, Binding Families is a project of the West. County Children's Bureau Advisory Board. Students from St. Vincent College will assist in setting up and maintaining it under the direction of Dr. Veronica Ent. People attending recital are asked to bring a book to donate to the program...those donating books will receive a chance to win a special prize.
